|Referent:||Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Deßloch has been a professor of Computer Science at Kaiserslautern University, Germany, since May 2002. He heads the research group “Heterogeneous Information Systems”. Major research areas include information integration, data transformation, database-oriented middleware technologies, databases and the web, XML and databases, as well as extensible and object-relational database management systems.
In these areas, he has published many conference papers, journal articles and book chapters, as well as conference tutorials. Until 2002, Prof. Dr. Deßloch was a database architect at the IBM Database Technology Institute in San Jose, California. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Kaiserslautern in 1988 and 1993, respectively.
